Update on Danielle

Danielles surgery was a success... we r still in the ICU but hopefully will get moved out to the floor today.... she was only supposed to be there until Friday morning but here it is Sunday! We r trying not to be impatient but that gets hard.... she has had some trouble with her blood pressure but they have her weaned off the meds & on room air now so we r hopeful that she will be out of there today... We still have a LONG way to go with recovery... Her 6-8 hour surgery turned into a solid 12 hr one... but so far everything seems to have been successful. We r very excited, so is the rest of the hospital. This is the first time this surgery has been preformed in arkansas!!! She feels like a bit of a celeberity because she is getting visitors from all over who wanna take a peek!! Her surgical team flew back to Cinncinatti this morning but the doctors & nurses here were flown out there to learn how to take care of her so we are confident that things will go smoothly.
This has been a crazy week & we are just ready to get settled into our room & start learning how to take care of things... she wont be able to eat or drink for about another week but she hasnt even asked for anything yet... I was kind of shocked! They have her on TPN & lipid but I figure she will be losing some weight from this... so once again just like last year we will be trying to load on some pounds over the summer lol.. talk bout a crash diet!
She has been amazing with pain tolerance... considering her incision starts @ her chest & goes to the pubic bone, she's only had pain meds once last night & that was after being up in her wheelchair (reluctantly) for 4 hours yesterday! Im having to be the big meany & insist on her getting out of bed & getting a bath... oh well she is almost 13 she isnt supposed to like me right!

WTF IS SPRING!

Danielle goes into the hospital Tuesday morning to get her NG tube & picc line placed for surgery on Thursday... She is SO looking forward to getting this over with because she is super excited about being more independent.... keep her in your prayers!
I am nervous about taking an entire month off from work since I am the only one in the house working at the moment, however the ol man has a job interview on Monday so perhaps that will work out .... if not we will figure something out.

Skylar made the honor roll this 9 weeks . The girls are still LOVING the new school & neighborhood... lots of NICE children to play with in the new neighborhood... makes a HUGE differnce... they just miss being able to go to church on Sundays in Reyno but they are going to be staying with my mom next week so they will get to go on Wednesday night...

My friend from work loaned me 3 of the Twighlight books to take to the hospital with me so I will have something to read... they told us we would be there for about a month so Im glad to have them! I will have the laptop there too but the WIFI @ the hospital blocks myspace! I can get onto yahoo & into my email though so my email is plasma.princess@gmail.com if anyone wants to get in touch!
I have an appointment with the oncologist on the 6th so hopefully I will be able to come home for that.... pray for that whole event as well!

It's just how I roll!

howdy.... after much feeling sorry for myself complete with pathetic whining I have discovered a few things
before starting vitamins with TONS of iron & folates be sure to up your water & fiber intake.... you will save yourself a LOT of pain in the end... LITERaLLY! my tummy hurts & I'm almost as full of crap as Jayson... ok maybe not That bad LOL

I'm relieved 2 know that I'm not just being lazy... there IS a medical reason why I am run down by noon.... now to fix it before I get comfortable living as a zombie!

honestly it wouldve been so much easier just to take better care of myself to begin with than to have to go through all this! Doctors arent cheap... & mine isnt even very nice.... if I'm going to get treated like a MoRon then they shouldnt be able to charge me so much... MoRons tend to be poor!!

This is my last week of work for a month.. I'm going on FMLa with Danielle... dont even ask how we are going to pay the bills with NO income... just know it is going to suck major ass getting caught back up... but I have enough to worry about gettin her through this so SOMEONE is going to have to get off their rear & get a job because there is no other option @ this point!

sometimes we need a meltdown!

after going to the doctor Monday I got some not so wanted news.... seems my blood work is all screwy.... they are using terms like "critical values" frankly I dont like it! They are sending me to Dr Monte... who specializes in another word that I do not like because that word has robbed me of so much in the past!
Bless my brother for listening to my meltdown (sorry) but now Ive got to suck it up because sometimes a princess just doesnt have time to be sick. To bad so sad I will let you know when I do not have so many beautiful people depending on me & maybe we can work out something then. Until then I shall be injesting vitamins and lots of iron fortified foods to avoid transfusions & that crap @ all cost!
With St Bernards insurance I cannot afford to be sick anyways!

After much resistance on my part the goldfish acquired at the spring fling has a new home... grrrr... apparently Hannah misunderstood my "no you cannot have a goldfish so don't even play the game" for a "sure Hannah I would love to have a goldfish" we brought it home and I put it in an old koolaid jug in hopes that it would make it's way to heaven by morning light... however 2 days later I gave up and got a fish bowl... double grrrrr..... it's name is Gladys.... as in mom were glad you let us keep her..... how do you figure out the gender of a fish anyways??

The kids are loving their new school AND the new neighborhood... insert huge sigh of relief.... I am loving the new school nurse (you wouldnt believe how hard it is to find a competant one these days)

This 70 degree weather is giving me a huge case of spring fever... to bad they are calling for highs in the 30's by Thursday!

I survived my first spring fling!!!

Hannah and Skylar had their first official spring fling at school last night! We thought it would be fun to load up and go do something as a family and even though I had worked all day and was worn completly out I must say I had fun! There were lots of games for the kids to play, food, and music. Danielle got a little overwhelmed by the whole situation so me, her and daddy ended up going outside and waiting on the other kids to finish using up their tickets. We got to watch part of the highschool baseball game which was neat. We all got cotton candy, there were NO tantrums or fits (can you believe that) and a gold fish later we were home. I think I might have spent a whole 10 bucks when it was all said and done so not bad for 2 hours of fun!
I'm off this weekend and since it is going to be flirting with 80 outside (and we had 6 inches of snow on the ground this time last week LMAO!) I believe we shall be doing some spring cleaning post spring flinging!!!!
